The Aye Lash: What to Expect During Your Eyelash Extension Appointment

Curious about what happens during an eyelash extension appointment? Whether you’re a lash newbie or just looking to brush up on what to expect, here’s a simple breakdown of our lash extension process here at The Aye Lash in Blantyre, how long it takes, and a few tips to get the most from your session.

---

Step 1: Consultation & Style Selection

We start each appointment with a short chat to get to know your style and desired lash look. Do you prefer something classic and natural, or are you in the mood for a glam effect? With two styles of our Signature Aye Lash Express to choose from, we’ll help you make the right choice that complements you.

Tip: Arrive with no makeup at all to speed up the process!

---

Step 2: Lash Prep & Cleansing

To ensure that your extensions last as long as possible, we prep your lashes by cleansing them thoroughly and applying a lash primer. Clean lashes provide the best base for application, allowing extensions to adhere securely.

---

Step 3: Application Process

1. Eye Pads & Tape: We’ll apply soothing under-eye pads and use gentle micropore tape to keep your lower lashes out of the way, which ensures a smooth and precise application.

2. Isolation: Our owner, Joanna as well as our other Aye Lash Express Partners isolate each natural lash using ‘dolphin tweezers’ , which ensures each extension is bonded perfectly to a single natural lash.

3. Attachment: Each extension is attached to an individual natural lash using a safe, long-lasting adhesive. This step is where your lash transformation truly begins, adding the volume, length, and curl you’ve been dreaming of.

Please note the adhesive we use has the following specifications:-

  • Cruelty-free

  • Vegan-friendly

  • Latex-free

  • Paraben-free

  • Oil resistant

  • Water-resistant

  • Heat resistant

  • Approved to medical standard ISO 10993-5

Duration: Our Signature express service, The Aye Lash Express, takes an hour for both classic or light hybrid lashes.

Step 4: The Finishing Touches

Once the lashes are applied, we’ll apply a bonder to instantly locks in fumes and strengthen the lash glue. We completely dry this off using a small electric fan, remove any tape and under-eye pads and give your lashes a final brush-through. At this stage, we’ll also check to ensure the look matches your expectations and that everything feels comfortable. We will give you a clean mascara wand (spoolie) to take home with you.

---

Step 5: Aftercare Tips

After your appointment, we’ll provide tips to keep your lashes looking lush and lasting as long as possible:

- Avoid Water for 24 Hours: Allow the adhesive to completely set by keeping your lashes dry during this period.

- Skip Oil-Based Products: Oil can weaken the adhesive bond, so stick to oil-free makeup removers and cleansers.

- Gently Clean Your Lashes: To avoid debris buildup, use a gentle lash cleanser and brush daily with a lash spoolie.
